Practice

Practice in time, with every tool in one place.

The tools a guitarist keeps open: a metronome with Speed up, your pieces’ tabs and scores on a stand, their videos looped slower by parts, every scale on the whole neck, backing tracks with the scale that fits, four pads for finger independence. And for the guitar itself, a tuner and a string tension calculator. Most work right on their page, no account.

Questions

Practice

Do the tools work without an account?

Most do, right on their page: the metronome, the neck, the backing tracks, Fingers, the tuner and Strings. Repertoire needs an account.

Does the metronome keep time in a background tab?

Yes. The clicks are booked ahead on the audio clock and a worker keeps it awake, so the tab can sit behind another one.

What is Speed up?

A climb: from a start tempo to a target, a step every few bars, then stay or start over. A count-in before every start, and a pause that keeps the bar.

Can I slow down a YouTube video?

Yes, in Repertoire: paste a link, mark a part, loop it at 25 to 150 percent, and let Speed up raise it as it settles.

Can I keep my tabs and scores in Diesis?

Yes, in Repertoire: add a PDF, a picture, or a Guitar Pro or MusicXML file, and open it as on a music stand, with the metronome under it and its video beside it. Sets put pieces in order for a trip or a concert. You can also write a tab yourself, on a phone or with the keyboard, and hear it played.

Phone or computer?

Either, in a browser. The neck is long and thin, so on a phone Diesis turns it sideways. On a computer it fills the window.

Will there be a mobile app?

The web version comes first and works on a phone today. A native app comes if enough people want one.
